To collect data pertaining to women’s social, economic and political activities and views before and after project implementation |
|
Pendragon Software was used to design survey forms that were uploaded to PDA’s for field work. The customized forms contained survey questions that allowed specific data types to be entered as responses. Required data types, indicated via the PDA interface for each question, included free text, numeric values and drop down selection boxes. After NGO Partners’ staff were trained in interview techniques and the usage of PDA’s and GPS’, they interviewed about 300 women and existing commune leaders. A GPS point was taken at each interview site and responses were entered directly into the PDA and hand written for back up. Survey data were then downloaded into an Access database which was then converted to a geodatabase containing spatial and attribute data. Spatial analyses and mapping were conducted to compare statistics and responses before and after project implementation (and before and after elections).
