Project Aims:

Condesan (The Consortium for the Sustainable Development of the Andian Ecoregion) initiated InfoAndina - to set up a digital bridge in the Andes encouraging the use of cheap communication tools, such as electronic conferences, specialized electronic newspapers, working on sustainable development projects in the Andean Ecoregion. The electronic conferences deal with issues such as conservation of the biodiversity, natural resources and sustainable development. InfoAndina organizes periodic work trips to rural cities in the Andes to promote the use of the Internet for conservation and development projects. Foro de Montaña's on-line library and CONDESAN's literature data base offer reports on hundreds of projects in the Andes.
