Conservation/Developmant Focus:
Bio-diversity conservation with biased focus on wildlife, natural vegetation cover and aquatic life/salt spas. The Socio-economic aspect is an important factor and ingredient to sustainable long term use of resources.
Project Duration:
Donor phase 2001-2005. Community phase 2001-2016 
Project Aims:
Enhance biodiversity conservation of the entire area, maintain wildlife migratory corridors and enhancing socio-economic well being/alleviate poverty by providing direct financial benefits to the Maasai people of Shompole.
Project Activities:
• Construction of tree beds
• Hiring of support of staff (manager,accountant,20 game scouts)
• Purchase of land cruiser, motor bike, radio-communication equipment, scouts uniform
• Infrastructure development of roads
• Putting up of an office
• Marketing development and signage
Project Results:
• Enhanced bio-diversity conservation
• Increased tolerance threshold between wildlife and human co-existence
• Enhanced socio-economic well being of Shompole members
• Increased wildlife species and an improved integrity of the general status of the land in question
Future Steps:
• Involvement of the neighbouring group ranches/land owners as the wildlife have no borders
• Cross/Trans-boundary initiatives are imperative especially along the Tanzanian border in creating Biosphere Reserves/Ramsar sites of International recognition
• When and if convenient we will pay all our members dividends from profits-the lodge joint ownership for continued support of the venture by the community
