Find Technologies
The following technology groups are featured in the Resource:
- Communications
- Data Management & Information Sharing
- Remote Power Supply
- Wildlife Tracking
Find Projects
t4cd has also collated large bodies of information on existing conservation and development projects that are taking advantage of technologies - again this section is sub-divided according to the four technology categories detailed above. If you are involved in a project that you would like to see profiled in the project database, go to the "Submit a project" page and send us the details - we would love to share your work with others!
Find Funding!
Check out the "Grants" database within the ICT Resource, for information on grant-making bodies that include application of technologies within their funding interests
Find Project Support!
Check out the "Support" database within the ICT Resource for information on individuals and organisations who offer project management/technical/information-sharing support for technology implementation - particularly in the sustainable development context. t4cd is also in the process of building a database of experts, with technical expertise in one or more of t4cd's 4 key technology areas - communications, data management & information sharing, remote power supply and wildlife tracking. If you wish to be included in this database just Register on the site, and the t4cd will be in touch to request further details.
Find Training Courses!
Knowledge is power. Taking full advantage of technologies is not out of the reach of over-stretched conservation and development practioners and local communities - all that is needed is access to the right information and individuals with little or no previous experience with modern technologies can take ownership of innovative new tools.
The "Training" database is designed to highlight opportunities for developing skills in the use of a wide range of technologies. Some of the courses are face-to-face, whilst others involve distance or e-learning - some are free of charge, others charge a fee - some are fully accredited academic courses, others are brief crash courses.
Expand your mind and your opportunities!
Updating the Resource
If you are aware of any technology, project, grant scheme, support, or training course that you think should be included on the ICT Resource, please don't hesitate to contact the t4cd team with details (info@t4cd.org). In the same way, if you believe that an existing entry is out of date or should be added to, please also get in touch. With your help this Resource will become steadily bigger, better and more useful to the conservation and development communities.
